It’s finally fall in New York, which means I have an excuse to wrap myself up in all of my favorite sweaters and find myself in Central Park every weekend.
Sharing a range of things I’m loving this month and beyond.
Layers.
More is more (in terms of layers and only layers). According to The Row runway, we are definitely wearing our sweaters as scarves this year.
A few knits I have in my closet or on my wishlist include this oversized crew from Soft Goat, a cableknit from Toteme, this chalky beige chunky knit from Cos, another chunky knit from Jenni Kayne, and this lightweight knit by Reformation (perfect for throwing over the shoulders).
I love layering a blazer or lighter coat under a wool overcoat. I think Cos has exceptional outerwear this year - including a pinstripe oversized scarf coat, and I have heard great things about this cashmere wrap from J Crew. Another scarf I have my eye on for this season is this Rag & Bone black and white scarf. Coat scarf twinsets are going nowhere - this men’s coat from Cos may be one of the best I’ve seen outside of the classic Toteme. Slouchy, sophisticated, and not too trendy.
Red.
We all know red is dominating the runways & the streets but my favorite moments of red this month were found in the MoMa. If you haven’t gone to see Ed Ruscha’s Now Then exhibit, I highly recommend making a trip. In terms of incorporating red into my wardrobe - I’m not super into bright colors so I’ll think I’ll be partaking in red by adding in a sock with a loafer for a pop of color. I like these and these.
My other favorite ways to add in color are via a shoe, coat, or a bag. If you’re a size 41 you’re in luck and should snag this pair of Bottega flats from Vestiaire Collective. This Bottega Trench from the Outnet is also an absolute score, and in my opinion, burgundy is much more timeless than bright red.
Accessories.
If you’re anything like me and dress quite minimal - accessories are the best way to dress up a look. I’ve had my eye on these Ben Amun cuffs for a while now but I think it’s time to pull the trigger on them. You’ll likely never find me without a pair of earrings in - my favorites lately are anything from Lie Studio. Specifically The Esther Earring, I’ve had them for over a year and I still find myself reaching for these daily.
Belts. My go-to belt to pair with denim is ‘Nili’s Belt’ from Nili Lotan. My other favorite is the Louise Belt - specifically in the brown croc-embossed. I tend to reach for more classic belt styles but I definitely am drawn to the Khaite Julius belt - it feels like wearable art and will spice up any minimal look. I also die for this sculptural belt by Dehanche, inspired by modernist sculptor Constantin Brancusi.
I’ve personally shelved my claw clips and am after a silver hair barrette. Linking my finds here, here, and here.
Etc.
In non-fashion related news, I picked up Glossy last week and finished it in two sittings - it’s a fantastic read for anyone interested in Emily Weiss’ story and building a unicorn business. Meltzer writes in such a personal way that feels like you’re interviewing right there with her. Equal parts inspiring and gossipy.
On Repeat: I’ve been listening to Ancora, Ancora, Ancora (Mark Ronson Remix) all week.
Thank you for reading and indulging in the things that excite me. See you next time! x
